Toolroom Supervisor

 

 

Summary of the Job: Lead warehouse, Pre-fab and Operate the toolroom during morning hours to ensure that all field operations are stocked with the necessary materials needed to perform all work

demands and are met with the highest level of efficiency and accuracy. Maintain an approach of continuous improvement with warehouse operations and assist in the training and development of high potential team members within the organization. Consistently demonstrate and model the core values of R.T. Moore.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

Warehouse

 

  • Operate the toolroom window during morning hours to ensure that all field operations are stocked with the necessary materials needed to perform all work
  • Manage the Keep Stock System (Automated Asset Management System) to ensure accurate records of all toolroom assets during the check-in and check-in out process
  • Perform/Maintain/Track all Dept 1 Tool Truck Stock to ensure that we maintain accurate records and accountability to ensure that each truck has all necessary tools and no excess tools
  • Perform/Maintain/Track all Dept 3 & 4 Jobsite Tool Tracking through entering all jobsite tools into the KeepStock tracking system to allow traceability and accountability                                                    
    • Enter all initial Job Box stock into the KeepStock system at the beginning of each MF job
    • Ensure all additional MF tools are req’d out through the Tool Room for jobsite traceability
    • Perform Quarterly jobsite tool inspections to ensure all tools that are checked out of KeepStock still remain on the jobsite
    • Check-In all Job Boxes and tools are the end of the job to ensure cost reconciliation
  • Communicate necessary toolroom restock orders to Purchasing Team
  • Communicate/Review all weekly reporting to ensure there are not employees abusing any toolroom guidelines and we have visibility into where tools are located at all times
  • Manage/transport/communicate/review all Franklin truck duties.
  • Rough pulls and finish pulls per the schedule.
  • Job folders per the schedule.
  • Gas orders per the schedule.
  • All other requests per the Franklin warehouse manager.
  • Perform all building maintenance requests as assigned.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of the toolroom to allow for accurate inventory on a monthly basis

 

Responsibilities:

 

Leadership: Lead all SI & MF Log Leads

  • Direction: Immediate supervision: receives close supervision related to specific work activities, assignments and methods. Usually receives frequent surveillance over job activities; instructions are detailed.
  • Safety: Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to Warehouse Logistics Manager
  • Teamwork: Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.  Develop and effective and positive work environment for all team members.

 

Education:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Licenses: Must carry a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a DOT physical
  • Certification: None Require

 

Experience:

  • Warehouse and forklift supervisory experience a plus

 

Necessary Skills:

  • Work Ethic: Demonstrated solid work ethic
  • Initiative: Must be able to anticipate and proactively address issues arising from supply chain conditions, changing business needs, team relations and other factors that could negatively affect productivity or positive work environment.
  • Attendance: Consistent attendance and arriving at required start times. Willingness to work at least 2 Saturday mornings per month
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as job sheets, pull sheets, inventory reports, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to speak effectively to customers and team members.
  • Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  Ability to withstand high stress levels and effectively resolve conflict.
  • Computer Operations: Intermediate to advanced computer skills necessary with ability to perform standardized applications on mobile device or PC.
  • Planning and Organization: Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize these tasks accordingly.  Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing conditions through evaluation of plan and reorganization or priorities.

Leadership:

  • All warehouse staff consistently demonstrate the core values of R.T. Moore
  • Identify and incorporate training and developing warehouse staff as needed to continually improve the warehouse operation
  • Facilitate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual management items required for staff such as time entry review, annual performance reviews and GPS report review
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with field operations, purchasing, service and suppliers
  • Demonstrate the following character traits: thoroughness, humility, determination, flexibility and alertness
    • Direction: Routine duties are performed with minimal to no supervision; standard practices or procedures allow me to proceed alone at routine work; occasional work is checked while in progress; work is checked upon completion.
    • Safety: Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to Warehouse Manager.

Teamwork: Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Develop an effective and positive work environment for all team members.

 

Education:

High School Diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred

 

Experience:

5 years of warehouse supervisory experience necessary.
